Ejlskov introduced environmental authorities and representatives from the oil and consulting industry to the latest advanced in-situ remediation technology at an open house event in Copenhagen, Denmark.

After an initial presentation of Trap & Treat® BOS 200® technology, visitors witnessed the remediation operation in action during a guided tour of a UNO-X petrol station.

The open house event gave insights into just one of several clean-up tasks, where Trap & Treat® BOS 200® is used for underground remediation of oil and organic solvents.

For many service stations and oil depots with contamination problems, the technology is attractive because the remediation process requires minimal operational disruption. A sustainable slurry, comprising activated carbon, nutrients and microorganisms, is injected into the ground. As the Trap & Treat® name suggests, the carbon mixture first traps the contaminants and, then, degrades them over a few months or years.
