RPIs launching of CAT 100™ is a market break through that will lead to new significant results for the in-situ remediation of various chlorinated solvents.

In this video, our partner Scott Noland, President of Remediation Products Inc. (RPI), explains the benefits of using CAT100™ for in-situ remediation. CAT 100™ is a fusion of RPI’s BOS 100® and existing biotechnology to produce a new technology capable of achieving results beyond the capabilities of either existing technologies alone.

Using this newly developed combination of technologies, RPI has found a method to preserve the iron in the BOS100® throughout the degradation process, where previously the iron was consumed as part of the microbiological mechanism. In this process the metallic iron facilitates catalytic degradation of the contaminant without significant depletion of the iron. As the iron promotes electron transfer by creating an electrial connection throughout the carbon, electrones are made more easy accesible for the degradation process. This overall cycle enables degradation of far more contaminant mass than would be estimated by simple iron demand.
